自1960年起，每两年一届的德国雷芬展（REIFEN ESSEN）已有近50年成功举办的历史，是现在世界最大、最专业的轮胎展览会。2006年的第42届她更是吸引了来自全球40多个国家的500多家参展商和90多个国家的17,000多名专业观众前来参加。     中国，作为全球经济发展步伐最快最具活力的市场之一，轮胎行业前景极其广阔。2007年，中联橡胶（集团）总公司与德国ESSEN展览公司合作在上海新国际博览中心以德国雷芬展为榜样共同举办了首届亚洲埃森轮胎展（REIFEN CHINA--1ST ASIAN ESSEN TIRE SHOW），为中国轮胎及相关产业搭起一个真正的国际交流平台，把国际品牌轮胎展览成功地引入中国，给轮胎生产商和贸易商提供了一个全新的展示空间。     “宣传品牌、促进贸易”将作为亚洲埃森轮胎展的服务宗旨。2008亚洲埃森轮胎展的成功举办为扩大国内外轮胎品牌的国际知名度，促进轮胎产业经济的国际交流与合作，为中国轮胎企业迈向市场化和国际化提供了强大的引擎。主办方提出：用最短的时间，将亚洲埃森轮胎展办成亚洲地区与德国埃森轮胎展和美国SEMA展并肩的国际化轮胎专业展，力求打造最具市场导向功能的国际轮胎盛会。
